Every day, Jesus invites people to enter the kingdom of heaven. (See Matthew 22)
Some refuse to attend. (Verse 3) Yet, Jesus invites again, saying “The banquet is ready. Come.”
But the invited guests were not concerned and paid no attention. They ignored and made light of the summons, treating it with contempt. They went away—one to his farm, another to his business. (Matthew 22:6)
Haven’t you heard the call, friend? The kingdom of God awaits you.
How many times have you spurned the invitation to ask Christ into your heart?
Beware. There is an end to God’s patience.
It may come as a surprise to you that the Lord gave you grace and common sense so that you would respond to the invitation.
Even today, couples send out a ‘save the date’ card months ahead so that you have no excuse to skip their wedding date. This is your pre-kingdom call. Don’t miss it.
“This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed. By believing in Him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God didn’t go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again. Anyone who trusts in him is acquitted; anyone who refuses to trust him has long since been under the death sentence without knowing it. And why? Because of that person’s failure to believe in the one-of-a-kind Son of God when introduced to him. (John 3:16-18)
