Crowded Christmas in Southern churches?

Chances are if you live in or visiting Mississippi or South Carolina, for example, this week, you may have a lot of company at church on Christmas Eve.

A survey released by The Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life indicated Mississippi as the highest ranking state in terms of worship attendance, frequency of prayer and belief in God. In fact when looking at worship attendance the top 11 states are located south of the Mason-Dixon Line.

The next two locations listed are the Western states of Utah and Kansas.

The bottom of the list features the combined states on New Hampshire and Vermont. Also near the bottom are Alaska, Massachusetts, Maine and Connecticut/Rhode Island.
