Evangelist Oral Roberts dies

Oral Roberts, the evangelist who founded the Oklahoma university of the same name did today.

He was 91.

“Oral Roberts was the greatest man of God I’ve ever known,” said Oral’s son, Richard Roberts, according to KTUL in Tulsa. “A modern-day apostle of the healing ministry, an author, educator, evangelist, prophet, and innovator, he was the only man of his generation to build a worldwide ministry, an accredited university, and a medical school.”

Current Oral Roberts University president Mark Rutland also eulogized Roberts on the the school’s Website: “Chancellor Roberts was one of the brilliant spiritual lights of the 20th century and a giant of the Christian faith.”
