After the Washington, D.C. city council approved a measure earlier this month legalizing gay marriage in the nation’s capital, a group advocating traditional marriage is pushing an 11th-hour drive to get Congress to overturn the bill.

As many of us start planning to lose weight in 2010, the Houston Chronicle reports on a program that uses prayer and Scripture in helping its participants change their habits for the better.

The steady diet of those year-end—and decade-end—lists continue. Among the more interesting lists published recently are Billboard magazine’s list of the top Christian artists and songs of the decade.

Mary Fairchild, the Christian guide for About.com, has compiled her list of the 10 most talked about Christians of the decade. Among those making her list were evangelical leaders Billy Graham and Rick Warren, U2 frontman Bono, and unsuccessful vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.
