Who You Are In Christ (Part I)

“… and to the spirits of just men made perfect…”
Hebrews 12:23

How marvelous is our God that would see us as perfected even though we are but ‘walking dirt’ among this Earth!

Notice that this passage is very specific. It does not speak to the flesh, meaning bloodlines, accomplishment, generous good works or another other thing a person can do of his/her own merit. This passage speaks to the spirit, the part of us that has been reborn, the new creation. Disallowing all references to any thing a person can do and ascribes that these men could not have achieved perfection. These men were made perfect. It is not the work of their hands but the work of another, namely Christ Jesus.

Christian, consider this.

There is nothing you have ever done nor can do that is of any worth to your Creator. Your spirit was made perfect, made complete, lacking nothing at the point of your salvation. This is the part of you that God speaks to. This part can be suppressed and hidden but it can never be killed as it is immortal.

Consider this today as you face trial, tribulation, heartache, sorrow. All affliction is to the flesh. When, in our deepest sorrow we turn to see the face of Jesus, all torment or emotional reaction is removed and we instantly become identified with our Creator just as Stephen did at the time of his stoning.

Walk in this knowledge and redeem your attitude. Know how God truly sees you and revive your perspective. Your bathroom mirror does not show who you truly are. To find who you truly are and all that God wants for you, read this passage and know …

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD,
thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me,
and I will hearken unto you.
Jeremiah 29:11-12
