Acceptance

A humble person helps others and even makes others feel good. They stop asking God to do things and instead, do the things that they themselves can do.

A prideful person refuses the gifts of others, thereby declaring that they are able to do, have, and be everything on their own. Watch Peter pridefully refuse service from Jesus!

“No,” said Peter, “you shall never wash my feet.” Jesus answered, “Unless I wash you, you have no part with me.”

(John 13:8, NIV)

If we cannot accept the lowliest gift, how can we fully accept the giant gift of salvation?

Has your neighbor offered to bring dinner, cut your lawn, mind your children? Perhaps you have done those things for them but refuse the same in return.

All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”

(2 Peter: 5:5-7, NIV)
