If we cannot accept the lowliest gift, how can we fully accept the giant gift of salvation?
Has your neighbor offered to drive you to the doctor’s, wash your car, or bring you a takeout meal? Perhaps you have done those things for them but refuse the same in return.
All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”
(2 Peter: 5:5-7, NIV)
Let’s take the example of Covid vaccinations. We can refuse to get vaccinated but Paul says,
“No one should seek their own good, but the good of others.”
(1 Corinthians 10:24, NIV)
If we profess to be Christians, we must live the life of peacemakers.
We must be obedient to the Word of God.
We must walk in care for others.
We must give up our own selfish attitude and live like Jesus, putting others first.
