Bound for Glory

The word bound, means more than tied up. It also means:

1- Something expected to happen because custom, experience, or common sense dictates it

2-Being obliged to do something or behave in a particular way, e.g. for legal or moral reasons

3- To be firmly resolved to do something

4- To travel toward a particular place

5- Destined to reach or achieve something

6- To move quickly and energetically, with large strides or jumps

7- Traveling toward a particular place

8- Destined to reach or achieve something

In the manger, Jesus was swaddled/bound in love. He was then bound at the Garden of Gethsemane. Finally, he was bound in his burial strips.

Mary removed the first ones so he could grow into his destiny. Soldiers took off the second ones so he could carry the Cross on our behalf, toward our salvation. Jesus himself removed the final ones for his task was finished.

For to this end, Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living. (Romans 14:9, KJV)

So as we journey through the Christmas season, remember that the swaddling clothes were more than just a baby outfit.

Prayer- Thank you, God for being more than we ever think could ask or think, all the time. Amen.
