Brother Lawrence died in 1691 but his words live on. Let us take them to heart as have thousands before us.
“You need not cry very loud; he is nearer to us than we think.”
“The difficulties of life do not have to be unbearable. It is the way we look at them – through faith or unbelief – that makes them seem so. We must be convinced that our Father is full of love for us and that He permits trials to come our way for our own good.”
“I wish you could convince yourself that GOD is often (in some sense) nearer to us, and more effectually present with us, in sickness than in health.”
“We ought to act with God in the greatest simplicity, speak to Him frankly and plainly, and implore His assistance in our affairs.”
“Think often on God, by day, by night, in your business and even in your diversions. He is always near you and with you; leave him not alone.”
With that in mind…
Prayer – Dear God, here we are again…thanks. Amen
