Canada Celebrates

Did you know that Canadians invented the:

  • Butter tart in Barrie, Ontario in 1900
  • Nanaimo Bars in Nanaimo, British Columbia in 1952
  • Poutine in Montreal, Quebec in the 1950’s
  • Ginger ale in Toronto, Ontario in 1907
  • Pablum in Toronto, Ontario in the 1930’s
  • Instant mashed potatoes in Ottawa, Ontario in 1963
  • Beaver tails in Ottawa, Ontario in 1978
  • Hawaiian pizza in Chatham, Ontario in 1962
  • And yes. Even chewing gum in Toronto. Ontario in the 1860s.

I could go on telling you about more food inventions, but remember that we did more than our share in both world wars, but we are classified under the British troops.

We’ve lots to be proud of here in Canada and since it is Canada Day today, we boast a little bit.

In God, we make our boast all day long, and we will praise your name forever. (Psalm 44:8)
