Canadian Thanksgiving

That is today’s official term…Canadian Thanksgiving; but I fear we have lost its true meaning.

Thanksgiving is an expression or an act of giving thanks. Thanksgiving is a prayer that offers thanks to God. Thanksgiving is a public acknowledgment or celebration of divine goodness.

Most of our chatter is about what stores are going to be open and will the family show up.

Here are some alternatives for you to spread among your crowd.

For the singers
On your feet now—applaud God! Bring a gift of laughter, sing yourselves into his presence. (Psalm 100:1-2, MSG)

For the computer literate
Enter with the password: “Thank you!” Make yourselves at home, talking praise. Thank him. Worship him. (Psalm 100:4, MSG)

For the tight wads
These are the things I go over and over, emptying out the pockets of my life. I was always at the head of the worshiping crowd, right out in front, Leading them all, eager to arrive and worship, Shouting praises, singing thanksgiving— celebrating, all of us, God’s feast! (Psalm 42:4, MSG)

For the thankful
Prayer- Thanksgiving is our dialect. Amen (from Ephesians 5:4b).
