Choices

We make choices every day. A choice is defined as a decision to choose one thing, person, or course of action in preference to others. We know in our hearts the right thing to do. Yes we do, but it is so tempting to do the opposite because it sounds like so much more fun.

And then we offer whine prayers like this…”Oh God forgive me, I didn’t have a choice.”

Ha!!! Talk about lies that are bigger than the biggest speck in our eyes.

Ah yes, the world calls our multiple sins ‘choices’ but God calls them sin. (Linda Smith) Let’s be clear about sin.

Sin is an act, thought, or way of behaving that goes against the law or teachings of God, especially when the person who commits it is aware of this.

When anyone becomes aware that they are guilty in any of these matters, they must confess in what way they have sinned. As a penalty for the sin they have committed, they must bring to the Lord a female lamb or goat from the flock as a sin offering and the priest shall make atonement for them for their sin.(Leviticus 5:5, NIV)

Got any lambs or goats on hand? Don’t be silly. Jesus took their place for us…and then took our place…

Prayer- Lord when we waver between choice and sin, remind us that we have the sense to choose correctly. Amen.
