Cooking Up a Storm

We may live without poetry, music and art,
We may live without conscience
And live without heart.
We may live without friends,
We may live without books;
But civilized men cannot live without cooks!

I know it is not popular right now to say you like to cook, but I do. I appreciate being able to feed myself and others. Anyway, as the skill dwindles, we will never be without a job! The funny thing is that non-cookers are happy enough to eat the food that someone else prepares! The person who knows how will always have a job.

The Bible speaks of several cooks. One carried the honoured priestly portion in 1 Samuel 9:24, and another prepared food for the sons of prophets in 2 Kings 2:38

Jesus even cooked a meal for his disciples.

When they got out on land (the beach), they saw a fire of coals there and fish lying on it [cooking], and bread. (John 21:9, AMP)

If it’s good enough for Jesus to do, it is good enough for me!

Prayer: Lord, thank you for life skills that feed the body. In Christ. Amen.
