Did you know that:
-the pleasant odor after a rain is called petrichor?
-the rumble of your stomach is correctly called a wamble?
-the day after tomorrow is called an overmorrow?
-your littlest toe or finger is a minimus?
-the sick feeling from eating too much is a crapulence?
-not wanting to get out of bed in the morning is called dysania.
-and yes, the dot over an i or a j is called a tittle.
Now we know that with all his other qualities, Jesus was also a linguist!
For verily I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. (Matthew 5:18)
A newer version says not the smallest letter or the smallest part of a letter will pass from the law until all things have taken place.
Jesus is saying that not one iota or even a dot will pass away from the law. We would do well not to pick and choose Bible lines that we do not like. Jesus still counts them.
