Grounding Anxiety

This is a helpful resource I learned in a recent weight loss class. Maybe it will help you.

  1. Look around you.
  2. Find five things you can see.
  3. Find four things you can touch.
  4. Find three things you can hear.
  5. Find two things you can smell.
  6. Find one thing you can taste

This is called grounding and may be helpful. Better still?

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7)

And I found this prayer on the internet. Pray. God hears.

Loving God, please grant me peace of mind and calm my troubled heart. My soul is like a turbulent sea. I can’t seem to find my balance so I stumble and worry constantly. Give me the strength and clarity of mind to find my purpose and walk the path you’ve laid out for me. Amen.
