Draw the Circle

“We cannot pray and remain the same. We cannot pray and have our homes remain the same. We cannot pray and have the world about us remain the same. God has decreed to act in response to prayer. ‘Ask,’ he commands us. And Satan trembles for fear….” (Ruth Graham)

I am reading Draw the Circle by Mark Batterson. He gives several examples of people who prayed like they meant it. They prayed long and they prayed hard. They prayed around the clock. They prayed in small groups and in large.

And God answered.

Our church now prays 24 hours once a month. I always sign on for 3-4 a.m. because no one wants to disturb their sleep at that hour.

I sent my phone alarm to the snooze button lest I fall asleep. Sometimes I have, but I believe that God honors our heart and our intent.

Have you ever asked God what you should pray for? His answers steer you to the right words.

Do you pray? Do you believe that God answers prayer? Then pray!

Lord, change us, we pray. Make us more like you. For Jesus who said “If you have seen me, you have seen the Father.” (John 14:8-9) Amen
