The newspaper posted a huge sewing sale about an hour from here. Do I need more fabric? Every sewer knows the answer to that question! NO! Do I need more notions, threads, or sewing do-dads? NO! Will I go to the sale, even in this pouring rain? YES!
Why: because the touch of fabric, the feel of it, and a room full of eager sewers energizes me.
Was the woman who touched the hem of Christ's garment a sewer?
Matthew 9:20-21- And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment: For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole (KJV).
Did she know this verse?
Zechariah 8:23-This is what the LORD Almighty says: “In those days ten people from all languages and nations will take firm hold of one Jew by the hem of his robe and say, ‘Let us go with you, because we have heard that God is with you.”
We don’t have to be sewers to love fabric.
Matthew 14:36-And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole.
Prayer: Lord when nothing else will do, we determine to reach for the very fabric of you. Amen.
