Naomi’s husband and her two sons died and so Naomi and her two daughters-in-law were left alone with no means of support.
They headed off for Naomi’s home county because the famine hadn’t touched it. She tried to make the girls return. She said “There is no point. I have no more sons for you to marry. Go home.” (Book of Ruth)
And yet…. Ruth stays with her. They make a life together. Just like in the fairy tales of our youth, Ruth marries a rich relative and Naomi gets grandchildren and it all ends happily.
How old are we really?
My friend says that she is too old to buy green bananas I want to remind us all that even on our deathbed, there will be somebody standing there who doesn’t know Jesus as their personal Saviour. It is our privilege to share the truth.
Maybe you are one who has never made that decision to ask Jesus into your life. Why not? Jesus is the son of God who died on the cross to take on your sins and mine. No matter what you knew when, this is your now. Your chance to be forgiven for all your sins and have the gift of eternal life.
All you have to do is ask.
For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He even gave up His only begotten unique Son, so that whoever believes in, trusts in, clings to, and relies on Him shall not perish or come to destruction, or be lost but have eternal and everlasting life. (John 3:16)
