I thought it should say fresh herbs but no it really did say fish herbs. They weren’t kidding. It had an odor of dead fish or rotten socks or something even worse.
God made all kind of odours in his kingdom but some are far worse than others. As a farmers daughter I will take cow dung over chicken any day. Trust me, there is a big difference.
For we are the sweet fragrance of Christ [which ascends] to God, [discernible both] among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing. (2 Corinthians 2:15, AMP)
Lately I have noticed God’s promises being called into question. Rain and floods and following damage have some questioning God’s promise not to destroy all the earth again.
Well he hasn’t. His promise was for all the earth, not part of it. And truthfully, how much damage have we caused with our own careless ways?
Noah built an altar to God. He selected clean animals and birds from every species and offered them as burnt offerings… God smelled the sweet fragrance and thought to himself, “I’ll never again curse the ground because of people. I know they have this bent toward evil from an early age, but I’ll never again kill off everything living as I’ve just done. (Genesis 8:20-21, MSG)
Prayer- Oh God, remind us to think before we speak…Amen.
