I gave you a by- the- book salvation plan to share. Now I tell you that I have never led anyone to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, using that plan. Almost always, salvations followed after I told my own story.
As a speaker for Christian Women’s Club, I’ve given carefully prepared twenty-minute speeches about how Jesus interacted in my life. But sometimes all we have is time for is elevator moments, a couple of minutes to share the bare bones of the Gospel.
For example, a person might tell me that they don’t believe in Jesus. They might be going on about their awful life. The question to ask is…” How is that working for you? And follow up with “Jesus died for your sins and God raised him from the dead. All you have to do is ask him to forgive your sins and come into your life. (They will either run away or pray!)
We aren’t always the person who gets to lead them to the Lord. Sometimes we are only sowing some seeds.
Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy. Those who go out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with them. (Psalm 126:5-6)
He answered, “The one who sowed the good seed is the Son of Man. (Matthew 13:37)
When one woman asked Jesus into her life, her friend confessed that she had faithfully brought her to Christian Women’s Club meetings for twenty years.
Another woman told me that she had prayed the salvation prayer the month before and was too shy to say anything. You see, sometimes we are just the vehicle.
