The guest speaker shared this thought. “I don’t always share my own self like this” …and went on to tell of the losses he’d had in his own family. Unbeknownst to him, one of our church members had the very same tragedy in their family the week before. How could he know to share that? Why, it was the Holy Spirit of course.
Here are some qualities and gifts of the Holy Spirit:
But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.( John 14:26, NIV)
Do not worry beforehand about what to say. Just say whatever is given you at the time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit. (Mark 13:11b, NIV)
The Holy Spirit is available to everyone under these conditions.
Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 2:38, NIV)
Prayer – Lord, help us to listen to and obey when the Holy Spirit speaks to us in your name. Amen
