Garbage Talk Again

Yes more garbage talk. Sorry but we still have garbage and we must deal with it, A.S.A.P.

While we have trouble sorting out our life garbage, God does not and he gives us a list. 

The acts of the flesh are obvious: 

Sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like.

Then God tells us what happens when we refuse to toss out this kind of garbage.

 I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Instead he asks us to choose the following and place them where rotting garbage used to be,

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. 

Against such things there is no law. 

Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 

 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. (From Galatians 5:19-26, NIV)

If you have trouble sorting out your mess from your best, maybe these words will help. You see, we are God’s containers. Why would we want to be garbage cans when we can be silver goblets?

Become the kind of container God can use to present any and every kind of gift to his guests for their blessing. (From 2 Timothy 2: 21, MSG)
