Me “Do you know what tastes good; these little muffin s with peanut butter on them.
Grandson- “Yum mini muffins and peanut butter.”
Me-“Want to try one? “
He- “No.”
We needed space to do a craft so I moved a few dirty dishes off the table so that I could play with the grandchildren.
I said, “Someone needs to do some dishes in this house.
Granddaughter –“Yes you should!”
My grandson woke early. He always starts the day with a banana so I offered one.
He- Yes, I want a yellow banana.
Me- Bananas only come in yellow, silly boy.
He-Bananas only come in yellow? Then I want a yellow banana. Jesus forgives my badness…and he loves me right now—right Amma??”
What beautiful words for a grandma to hear!
The people brought children to Jesus, hoping he might touch them. The disciples shooed them off. But Jesus was irate and let them know it: “Don’t push these children away. Don’t ever get between them and me. These children are at the very center of life in the kingdom. Mark this: Unless you accept God’s kingdom in the simplicity of a child, you’ll never get in.” Then, gathering the children up in his arms, he laid his hands of blessing on them. (From Mark 10:13-16, MSG)
Prayer- God we thank you for children, what they do, hear and say…and especially our heart sings when they recognise Jesus for themselves. Amen.
