Hanging On

My friend Carol described her situation this way: “We are hanging on by God’s Thread. Is that where you are now? Talk about needing a miracle! But then of course when God is all there is, that in itself is a miracle.”

Do we take the time to consider how many times we are in that state; where there is nothing but us and God? Perhaps it happens day in and day out and we miss the whole thing. For instance, a car u-turned in front of you and you missed it by a hair.  Or your bank account should show empty, but somehow a few dollars linger there. Or you complain about a few red lights and later find out that you missed being in an accident… only by a few seconds.

I’ve experienced all of these and likely so have you. Let’s give credit to God’s thread, the tie that holds us close and protects us.

“Having the answers is not essential to living. What is essential is the sense of God’s presence during dark seasons of questioning.”

~ Ravi Zacharias

Prayer – Oh God, we thank you for reminding us… that you tied your thread to us with a knot and you will not ever let us go. Amen
