Hey Look at Me

That sounds grand when we are showing off a new outfit at the wedding or dressing for an interview or even just for show.

Abraham Lincoln was six foot four inches tall, but he added another six to eight inches of height with those top hats.

But forget the show of shows. Let’s look inside us at what we are really like.

Actually, the Bible suggests this very thing.

But let every person carefully scrutinize and examine and test his own conduct and his own work. 

He can then have the personal satisfaction and joy of doing something commendable without resorting to boastful comparison with his neighbor. (Galatians 6:4)

On the other hand, just in case we get a little too uppity about our achievements….

I am not conscious of anything against myself, and I feel blameless, but I am not vindicated and acquitted before God on that account.

 It is the Lord, himself who examines and judges me. (1 Corinthians 4:4)
