“How did you get invited anyway? I can’t figure out why you are here!” This rude comment came from another wedding guest at our table. Ron and I didn’t bother to answer. We weren’t close friends of the family but we had responded to the invitation with a resounding YES. We counted it an honor to be invited.
Every day, Jesus invites people to enter the kingdom of heaven. (See Matthew 22)
Some refuse to attend. (Verse 3) He invites again, saying “the banquet is ready. Come.”
But they (the invited guests) were not concerned and paid no attention [they ignored and made light of the summons, treating it with contempt] and they went away—one to his farm, another to his business. (Matthew 22:6, AMP)
How many times have you spurned the invitation to ask Christ into your heart? There is an end to God’s patience.
Prayer- Lord, give us grace and the common sense to respond to your invitation to the Christ and to Heaven, with a resounding YES. Amen.
