I’ll confess first. It’s been a long, hard summer with lots of extra duties I hadn’t planned on. Were they necessary? Yes, because family is family and we do what we can to help. Am I worn out and tired and dreading some upcoming stuff in my own schedule? Do I have aches and pains? Absolutely
Now it’s your turn. I’ll wait.……………………
Try holding your cell phone at arm’s length for several minutes. See how tired you are?
So of course, I ask myself (and you too!) what are we holding onto that is dragging us down, wearing us out, and crippling our service for God? (Hebrews 12:1-3)
Listen. Every day fur balls fly at our heads. We can catch them and handle them with God’s help, or let them stick to us and wreck our sense of peace.
Hold onto what is good. (1 Thessalonians 5:21b) and let go of everything else.
After all, Christ let go of everything else or us, didn’t he?
