Jigsaw Effect

A jigsaw puzzle is full of interlocking parts that don’t always fit where we want them to.
Some days that describes my life. Maybe you feel the same way.

Do you ever feel that you have lost part of yourself? Or that you can’t keep up with all you have to do? Do you feel that something is missing in your life?

I call that the jigsaw effect. It’s our overall impression of our lives. They are too much for us and we can’t find the strength or time or effort to get that last piece or two of the puzzle into place.

If we could our lives would be perfect.

There is also a saw called the jigsaw. It cuts and shapes odd curves and turns in wood.

I think we need a spiritual jigsaw to trim our lives into the right sized pieces. Jesus will do that if we let him. I learned long ago to give him my schedule and use it to his advantage, but I get the jigsaw effect when I don’t pay any attention.

Watch out. The jigsaw effect has a way of spreading.

One final word of counsel, friends. Keep a sharp eye out for those who take bits and pieces of the teaching that you learned and then use them to make trouble. Give these people a wide berth. They have no intention of living for our Master Christ. They’re only in this for what they can get out of it, and aren’t above using pious sweet talk to dupe unsuspecting innocents. (Romans 16:17-18, MSG)

Prayer- Lord, keep our lives together and under your counsel; and help us do our bit to keep them there. Amen.
