John Mark McMillan Brings Us God, Honesty, Rock and Roll With ’The Medicine’

Known primarily in the American church world as the writer of the widely played song “How He Loves”, John Mark McMillan brings alot more to the table than one popular and overplayed song.  Honesty, that's what John Mark has to bring to a nation desperate for awakening.

John Mark's new album “The Medicine” is full of themes of ressurection and spiritual awakening with songs like “Death in His Grave,” “Out of the Ground,” and “Skeleton Bones.”  “Skeleton Bones”  tells the story of the Valley of Dry Bones found in Ezekiel 37, when the Lord tells Ezekiel to into a valley full of dead bones prophecy life into them and what do you know they came to life!

If all Christian music sounds the same to you these days, that's because most of it does sound the same.  People get so caught up in saying the “right things” that they end up putting any honesty or creativity through a filter.

The Lord doesn't want us to give the “perfect words” that the world may want us to say,  the Lord wants your honest words.  He wants you to leave your heart open and say, “Lord, this is what I've got so I know you're gonna love it.”

When asked if it is a worship album or a rock album, John Mark will simply answer, “Yes.” The Album doesn't subscribe to any type of label, really.  There are some powerful worship songs that could be great to play in church while there are also songs anybody could just rock out to.  Either way, they all feature some kind of dialogue between him and the Lord, which is what it's all about.

All in all, the record is incredible.  Go buy it, tell all of your friends about it, tell your Grandma about it and don't you dare think about pirating it!  🙂
