This is the sign on the entrance gate of our little village. Patience or patient. Not sure what that means?
Patience is the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, trouble, or suffering without getting angry or upset.
Patient is the word used for people getting medical treatment.
These terms apply to our entire life.
You can have patience as you wait for the red light to turn green or you can become a patient in the nearest hospital after a headlong vehicle crash.
You can have patience while you wait in line at the hamburger joint or you can storm out in anger and run your nose into the door, therefore becoming a patient.
You can wait with patience till payday for your pay check or you can have a fist fight with your boss and end up as a patient in the jail hospital.
See what I mean?
Friends, where are we demanding our own way, in a way that is going to make us look silly, or land us in an injured position?
Where are we waiting patiently for the Lord to have his way with us and with our lives?
Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who carries out wicked schemes. (Psalm 37:7, NASB)
I waited patiently for the Lord; And He inclined to me and heard my cry. (Psalm 40:1, NASB)
Prayer- Lord, get our attention, please. Before it is too late. Amen.
