We all have our own versions of quarantine, don’t we? For me, it’s away, away and away as far as possible from others till things calm down. I wear a mask whenever I am anywhere near others. I wash my hands…a lot! After all we are called to love one another in real ways, not just by postcards.
Here is a love list for every day, including pandemic days.
Pray without ceasing. (1 Thessalonians 5:17) Listen with your whole heart. (Proverbs 1:5) Share the truth. (Proverbs 12:17), Love your neighbour as yourself. (Matthew 22:36-40)
Speak without pointing fingers -You didn’t think, did you, that just by pointing your finger at others you would distract God from seeing all your misdoings and from coming down on you hard? Or did you think that because he’s such a nice God, he’d let you off the hook? Better think this one through from the beginning. God is kind, but he’s not soft. In kindness he takes us firmly by the hand and leads us into a radical life-change. (Romans 2:3-4, MSG)
Trust believingly- But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. (James 1:5, NASB)
Forgive without conditions. – But Jesus was saying, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.” Luke 23:34, NASB)
Answer softly- A gentle answer turns away wrath. (Proverbs 15:1, NASB)
Prayer- God how you must despair of those who declare they are Christian, yet disobey every bit of your Word. God forgive us if we have taken any part in such blasphemy. Today we remember your words.
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the great and foremost commandment and you shall love your neighbour as yourself. Amen (Matthew 22:36-40, NASB) Amen.
