Last Week’s Rules

“BeforeI reveal what I’ve written, I need to clarify that I wasn’t late last week. As long as the entry was posted on the blog before next week’s round was announced we're good to go. What a relief. I’m now three days late, but that’s only if you go by last week’s rules.”

This amusing comment came from artist and writer, Tracy Campbell.

Tracy was talking about a contest that she entered, but some of us are living our lives by last week’s rules. We made the decision to ask Jesus to forgive our sins and come into our lives. We are happy not to be going to Hell, but we don’t care to accept anything else God tells us.

Philippians 4:8- Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things (KJV).

Hebrews 10:24-25- And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching (KJV).

Leviticus 19:17-19-Don’t secretly hate your neighbor. If you have something against him, get it out into the open; otherwise you are an accomplice in his guilt.“Don’t seek revenge or carry a grudge against any of your people. “Love your neighbor as yourself. I am God. “Keep my decrees (KJV).

Oh I could go on but we already know what the Lord wants us to do, don’t we?

Prayer: Lord, we’ve been slow to move into full obedience, but today…we are moving into today- today! Amen.
