Life Miracles

I admit I did see the beginning of the big lunar display on January 20. I meant to stay awake. I did see the beginning of it. But then the moon moved farther over my roof and I couldn’t see it well. I figured that God would likely be able to finish it without my help, so I went to sleep.

After all it was -25 degrees outside and I would have had to put my sling on and buckle up boots and drag on long johns (not necessarily in that order.) So I missed the revealing of one of God’s great miracles.

I wonder how many less popular miracles we miss every day. The ones where a car swerves just in time, a child will take a first step; a surgeon saves a life. All of life is a miracle from God and we would do well to heed more and criticize less.

Let the one who is wise heed these things and ponder the loving deeds of the Lord. (Psalm 107:43, NIV)

Prayer- Lord, forgive us for taking life as an ordinary thing when every bit of it is precious and worthy and a gift from you. Amen.
