When my granddaughter was in a low spot, I wrote her this reminder of her roots.
Afi (Icelandic for Grampa) used to say that “he worked hard and he played hard.”
He never wasted a moment. He had life goals and he lived them out.
This is his favorite verse. Let it be yours.
Even youths grow tired and weary and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint (Isaiah 40:30-31)
She needed a reminder that life goes on, no matter what.
God says that we are to…ARISE from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept us–rise to a new life! (Isaiah 60:1)
And He calls us to…Come home, hope-filled prisoners! This very day I’m declaring a double bonus—everything you lost returned twice-over! (Zechariah 9:12)
Every now and again, we all falter, but then we arise from our low places to live in surety with Christ.
