We tend to panic when tested, but we are in good company.
Jesus faced tests from hypocrites, (Matthew 22:18), lawyers, (Matthew 22:35), and Pharisees, (Matthew 19:3).
The Holy Spirit actually led Him into a place where He spent the next forty days being tested by the devil.
Then Jesus, full of and controlled by the Holy Spirit, returned from Jordan and was led in by the Holy Spirit. For forty days in the wilderness He was tempted, and tested exceedingly by the devil. (Matthew 4:1-2)
The kind of test doesn’t matter. What matters is that we pass it; pass it like Jesus did.
Blessed, happy and, to be envied is the man who is patient under trial and stands up under temptation,
for when he has stood the test and been approved, he will receive the victor’s crown of life which God has promised to those who love Him. (James 1:12)
And when we are tested, let us come forth as gold because our feet followed in Christ’s footsteps and never turned from his way. Amen (Job 23:10-11)
