Did you know that a true vegetarian will need to avoid Worcestershire sauce because it contains anchovies; perhaps not. If you eat it by mistake does it negate all you ever were and are as a vegetarian?
Sadly we all make mistakes of one kind or another but some are more crucial than others. What about our Christian life? Do we know our faith through and through? Do know what is in the Bible and what is just passed down by word of mouth?
What about these non-biblical terms?
God helps those who help themselves.
Cleanliness is next to Godliness.
Saint Peter will be at the pearly gates.
Money is the root of all evil.
I could go on but you can check these things out for yourself. Stop being a mixed up Christ follower who argues and tries to set precedent based on what you think is in scripture… when a little research shows that it clearly isn’t.
But there were also lying prophets among the people then, just as there will be lying religious teachers among you. They’ll smuggle in destructive divisions, pitting you against each other—biting the hand of the One who gave them a chance to have their lives back! They’ve put themselves on a fast downhill slide to destruction, but not before they recruit a crowd of mixed-up followers who can’t tell right from wrong. (2 Peter: 1-2, MSG)
