Do you remember that TV show where everything seemed backwards? Mork and Mindy had a full-sized child hatched from an egg. Apparently he would grow down in size as time went on.
What if the world really ran backwards like that?
What if the world worked backward and a drowning man had to throw the rope to a person on the shore? Or our children were born the same as that Mork and Mindy one? Or what if we had to drive our vehicles in reverse all the time; ridiculous.
What if we worshipped all kinds of other Gods, yet when trouble and turmoil hit, we expected the one true God to help us? Or we told God what we wanted and expected him to obey us. Or even worse, we tried to be our own salvation by throwing Jesus all our good works; ridiculous.
Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12, NIV)
Prayer- Lord, when our thoughts and actions get off base, remind us how ridiculous they are. Amen.
