Those wonderful cooking shows that present a hot meal in minutes or judge a contest in seconds aren’t for real. Hours of TV time are pared down to look like a quick-as-a-wink event. It just isn’t so.
Sometimes prayer is like that. We pray and pray and nothing seems to happen, but God is in charge and we need to consider why answered prayer seems out of our reach.
Surely we are not in sin.
God knows our answer would be a bad thing for us.
Maybe we aren’t praying a big enough prayer.
Are we praying the direct opposite prayer that another Christian is praying?
God knows that the answer we want is impossible, because of situations we don’t know about.
“No” is not always a bad answer.
All prayer is preparation for more to come.
And no matter the answer?
Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, (Romans 5:1, NIV)
Prayer – Lord when we get antsy about our requests, help us to rest peacefully in you… for you are our answer. Amen
