1 Corinthians 10:13–No test or temptation that comes your way is beyond the course of what others have had to face. All you need to remember is that God will never let you down, he’ll never let you be pushed past your limit; he’ll always be there to help you come through it (MSG).
“Oooooh! Look at the ladybug!” (Sitting on her hand!), the little one exclaimed. Just a few minutes before, I said the very same words. However, mine sounded more like this. “OOOOOOOH! LOOK AT THE LADY BUG.” (Sitting on my hand!) The child was fascinated by God’s design while I saw only the invasion of my personal space.
What would happen if we learned to look at everything through the eyes of 1 Corinthians 10:13? At my mom’s funeral, God constantly reminded me of this verse. When I looked at the attendees with fresh eyes, it was obvious that almost everyone there had already lost their mom. Yet they were now strong enough to comfort me! God had not let them down and He would not let me down either.
How will we accept the ‘ladybugs’ of our life? The same life issues plague us all. The difference lies in our perception of the situation. Rest in the truth that God never gives us more than we can bear.
Prayer: Lord, You always say what you mean. No matter what trouble we face today, help us see it as part of your design for our lives and be grateful that you are in it with us. Amen.
