Open Tomb

Don’t try to tell me that the Roman Empire and its soldiers were fooled and Christ’s body stolen away. It’s just not possible. Rome was a structured society and on top of everything in their sphere. Here is what really happened.

The next day, the one after Preparation Day, the chief priests and the Pharisees went to Pilate. “Sir,” they said, “we remember that while he was still alive that deceiver said, ‘After three days I will rise again.’ So give the order for the tomb to be made secure until the third day. Otherwise, his disciples may come and steal the body and tell the people that he has been raised from the dead. This last deception will be worse than the first.”
“Take a guard,” Pilate answered. “Go; make the tomb as secure as you know how.” So they went and made the tomb secure by putting a seal on the stone and posting the guard. (Matthew 27:62-66, NIV)

In fact, when Mary Magdalene went to the tomb the next morning, she believed that someone, possibly the Romans, had stolen Christ’s body away!

Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance. So she came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, and said, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have put him!” So Peter and the other disciple started for the tomb. (John 20:1-8, NIV)

So you see, all falsehood and supposition and trying to rework history doesn’t work. Christ is alive and well and he wants a relationship with you!

Prayer- Lord; thank you, thank you, thank you for loving us so much that you died on the cross for our sins and rose from the dead that we might have eternal life and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
