Open Mouth, Insert Foot

Do you know people who blather out their opinion on every topic, even though they know absolutely nothing about any of them?

They’ve been around for a long time. The Bible says a[self-confident] fool has no delight in understanding but only in revealing his personal opinions and himself. (Proverbs 18:2, AMP)

Those opinions reveal their ignorance, their pride and their self love. Are we one of those self confident fools? No doubt we are all fools at one time or another. What do our personal opinions reveal about us?  Do they always honor God, ourselves and others? Or do they denigrate, reject, bully and enslave?

Let’s take a few minutes to examine our speech…and our hearts, in the presence of the Living God.
