Remember that quiet drive I planned yesterday; the leisurely run through the countryside? It was exactly that for a couple of hours. My trusty GPS guided me through twisty turns, rustic farmland and charming miniscule towns.
When it announced “You have reached your destination,” I looked around in bewilderment. I was parked neatly in front of a tractor repair shop. What happened?
Our lives seldom turn out according to our plan. I intended to be a lawyer but got married. We hoped for six children but only had two. I thought my honey and I would grow old together. He died some time ago.
If our plans do not materialize, are we failures? No indeed, for they were our plans, not God’s.
"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV)
Prayer- Thanks God for the way our lives turn out when we follow you. Amen.
