Our society is always touting one of magical cure or another and this year it is the pineapple. It’s made up of several flowerets that form one fruit. A ripe pineapple smells fresh and sweet. Stick the top in water and it grows. Apparently, it’s good for whatever ails you!
Now shouldn’t that be the church? After all, we are made up of many members. At our best, we smell fresh and sweet with the fragrance of Christ. Try to destroy us and we grow more than ever. And since Christ is good for whatever ails, so should we be.
But thanks be to God, Who in Christ always leads us in triumph [as trophies of Christ’s victory] and through us spreads and makes evident the fragrance of the knowledge of God everywhere, For we are the sweet fragrance of Christ [which exhales] unto God, [discernible alike] among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing. (2 Corinthians 2: 14-15, AMP)
Prayer- Lord, thank you for showing us a picture of ourselves through a lowly pineapple. Amen.
