Prayed wrong is very different from wrong prayers but I was older in the Lord before I figured it out. As a new believer and a diligent journal keeper, I generally wrote out my prayers. Then ‘older’ (not necessarily more mature) Christians took me to task.
One lady chastised me for writing not speaking my prayers. When I spoke them, another person berated me in public for speaking my prayers too loudly. That’s when I started whispering and ended back with the first lady saying speak up!
One of our prayer meeting leaders demanded we all get on our knees. Try that with a bad case of arthritis and a bad back. Not good. I am sorry to say that I just stopped praying for a while because I couldn’t please anyone.
Finally, it seemed that God was speaking into my mind. ‘Brenda just write me a letter. I like snail mail’ And so I was back where I started.
I finally got it. God just wants the prayer. He doesn’t care what vehicle or voice we use. He just wants our sincerity.
The Lord has heard my supplication; the Lord receives my prayer (Psalm 6:9, AMP).
Blessed be God, who has not rejected my prayer nor removed His mercy and loving-kindness from being with me (From Psalm 66:20, AMP).
Matthew 21:22-And whatever you ask for in prayer, having faith and [really] believing, you will receive (AMP).
Be constant in prayer. (Romans 12:12b, AMPC)
Prayer- Thanks God that you care more about hearing from us than caring how we send the words. Amen.
