Pride’s Purpose

Pride protects us doesn’t it? We maintain our self-imposed status in the world. We see it as our saving grace, our worldly face of self-protection. The truth is that pride has a much more nefarious, that is the evil intent. Our pride plays right into Satan’s hands.

Because of the extravagance of those revelations, and so I wouldn’t get a big head, I was given the gift of a handicap to keep me in constant touch with my limitations. Satan’s angel did his best to get me down; (from 2 Corinthians 12:7-10, MSG)

But note Paul’s reaction to Satan’s jibes.

What he in fact did was push me to my knees. No danger then of walking around high and mighty! (From 2 Corinthians 12:7-10, MSG)

Have you ever heard the expression that ‘truth will out?’ It will do so eventually. And it is best we confess and confront it head on before Satan takes advantage of us.

Prayer- Lord may our truth come out in your presence. Amen.
