Radical Optimism

“A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.”– Winston Churchill

“The optimist thinks this is the best of all possible worlds. The pessimist fears it is true.”– J. Robert Oppenheimer.

“A pessimist is a person who has had to listen to too many optimists.”– Don Marquis

“I am an optimist, unrepentant and militant. After all, in order not to be a fool an optimist must know how sad a place the world can be. It is only the pessimist who finds this out anew every day.”– Peter Ustinov

This last thought should define us.

“No Christian can be a pessimist, for Christianity is a system of radical optimism.”– William Ralph Inge

Even on our worst day, the joy of the Lord is still our underlying strength.

And be not grieved and depressed, for the joy of the Lord is your strength and stronghold. (Nehemiah 8:10b, AMP)

Prayer- Lord, thank you that weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. (Psalm 30:5b, KJV) Amen.
