When my friend sent me a gift, I sent her a thank you letter. She generally writes back to me, but I heard nothing.
Then I got an envelope with another envelope stuffed inside. My friend did send a note but the original envelope showed the card had travelled from the east coast to the west coast. Someone there figured out the mistake and sent it back and then it was sent to me! It took three months, but I finally got the news!
Do you ever wonder how many opportunities God gave you to make a decision to follow him? Looking back, I see my Granny’s actions, Sunday School classes, teachers, preachers, books, neighbors, even television. Somehow, I missed or shunned them all.
Then one day, when my heart was finally tuned, God got a grip on me. He gave me another chance to follow him as my Lord and Savior. Thank God for second, third and even twentieth chances. Here is yours.
Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for my sin. Please forgive me. Come into my life. I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank you for your gift of eternal life and your gift of the Holy Spirit who now lives in me. Help me to live for you the rest of my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
