Sleeping Beauty slept undisturbed for a zillion years. Do you envy her?
Are you plagued with insomnia, bad dreams, sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome or a snoring partner? Oh what to do, what to do!
Well God gives us the gift of sleep so we have to figure out how to help ourselves open that present!
I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety. (Psalm 4:8, KJV)
And he says sleeplessness is a waste of time.
It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep. (Psalm 127:2, KJV)
To open that sleep gift, stop napping during the day. Exercise earlier in the day. Avoid caffeine later in the day. Avoid snacking if it gives you indigestion. Stop all screen activity at least 30 minutes before trying to go to sleep
When God gives us a gift, the least we can do is to open it and take it and use it.
