Too often we miss the glory of God in small miracles. For instance, I took a bowl of soup to my neighbour who had suffered in a major car accident.
It was my Chicken Taco Soup, my best recipe. I was a bit short on ingredients but made do with the chicken I had on hand.
When I scooped out a serving to deliver, there was a very puny bit of chicken in the bowl. I ran my ladle through the crock pot, looking for more. I found none. “Well, I thought, there are lots of vegetables in it, so that’s that. It will have to do.”
When I poured the soup into her serving dish, big chunks of chicken streamed into the dish.
I sure didn’t make it with big chunks of chicken, yet the Lord provided it!
A small thing? I agree and yet, to me just one more sign of the God who provides.
“And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19)
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11)
Therefore, do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. (Matthew 6:31-32)
