Yes, you have to start somewhere with understanding the bible. Just complaining that you don’t understand, won’t get you anywhere.
Look at the verses around your difficult one. This is called context. Very often the meaning likes in this area.
And friends, remember prayer/ Ask the Lord what the verse means to you. He always answers prayer.
Read the Bible. I mean from the beginning to the end to get an overview. Read it like a novel, no skipping to the end!
Try to visualize the original hearers. The Pharasees, those desperate for healing, Noah’s audience of unbelievers… and put yourself in that crowd.
Consider the Bible on tape. Listen to the words as they were meant to be. Listening is all they hd in the beginning. They didn’t have fifty versions to chose from. In fact they had none.
Write in your Bible. The word is holy, not the book. Mark questions, underline, think and record.
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12)
